I have these 2 rifles, one is H&R, the other is an NEF.
H&R Model SB-2-D-30 .308. I got this rifle with the 3x9x40 scope at the local Dick's for $169. Did not even think twice. Added a stock ammo carrier and the sling that I already had. It is pretty light, so I imagine it will kick some. But that's ok!
NEF Handi-Rifle .223. NWTF rifle with a 6x24x50 BSA Platinum scope. Great little shooter. I got this as a gift from my father.
With these 2 rifles I have it covered I feel, but I do want this rifle.
The Ultra Hunter I want in a long action caliber, maybe 30.06 or .270.
and this combo, .44 Mag and 12 gauge. $249 @ Wal-Mart.
My 2 rifles.

Very nice! Let us know which one ends up being your favorite. I want to add a Handi-Rifle to my collection at some point.

Gee, I didn't even know about that combo at Wal Mart. Special Order Item, I'm guessing.
They sure are fun, aren't they. Great find getting that .308 w/ scope for $170 which is incredible! I have two, a TALO Distributors Exclusive .357 Magnum with shorter barrel and iron sights which is a VERY fun rifle to shoot... ... and an plain old ordinary wood stocked .270 with a fixed 4x Nikon scope on it. No picture because it looks just like any other wood stocked Handi from the catalog. I would love to have a .308, a .223 and a .45-70 barrel fitted to my SB-2 receiver. But I don't shoot the ones I have as much as I wish, so the others would probably languish as well. I like the camo and the laminate stocks on both of yours! |

If you don't mind me asking, how long ago did you get that .308? That sounds like a steal. I was looking at one for sale private party for $350. Not so sure that's such a good deal now.

Probably October of 2011, I think. Dick's was closing them out, I was looking for a .308 to deer hunt in Kentucky with and when I saw this one, I snagged it up and did not look back. I have not shot it yet, so I can't give you a range report.
