ok. i'll go first.
I recently acquired a M48 from my older brother. It used to be our grandfather's. (he carved his initials in the stock ) The story about the gun is that my dad his brother and gramps used to go out hunting once a year with my mom's father, (my pepe') in Maine. All the times they went they never brought back any "game". I was talking with my uncle on her side of the family who went with them a few times. Apparently they did a lot of drinking and poker playing and just shot up the woods all liquored up scaring every thing around them. I wish my dad was still around to tell me these stories because my uncle has no sense of humor, so he doesn't tell it as well as he should. My memere' tells me a story about it here and there, but she can't tell me what actually happened there. My uncle means well, but he's just not the comedian he thinks he is.
Memere' told me there's a funny story about how the stock got broken, but she also said she just knows that anytime the "stock" is brought up they would all giggle like school girls. I guess i'll never know the actual story behind it, but i can have fun just thinking about it.
i'll post pix later when i can have better light.
cheers.

Nice looking 48 Lazy. What's the deal with the butt pad on yours? It looks smaller than my 48's.
